Transfer Files Between iPhone and Windows
AirDrop only works between Apple devices, so getting a file from your iPhone to a Windows PC usually means an iCloud upload, an email to yourself, or a USB cable and the Apple Devices app. Clipcroft replaces all three with a shared page in your browser — no install, no account, no upload to any server.
Send a file from iPhone to Windows in three steps
- On your iPhone, open clipcroft.com in Safari, Chrome, or Firefox and tap Create a new clipboard. You'll get a short shared name like "624".
- On your Windows PC, open clipcroft.com in any modern browser and type the same name. The two devices are now connected.
- On your iPhone, paste text or tap the upload area to pick a file, photo, or video. It appears on your PC instantly. Right-click on Windows to save, copy, or share it — or select multiple items and download them together as a ZIP.
Send a file from Windows to iPhone
The flow is identical in reverse. Drag a file or paste text on the Windows page; on your iPhone, tap the file to download or open it directly. iOS Safari saves files to the Files app under Downloads, from where you can move them to Photos, open with another iOS application, or share through the standard iOS share sheet.
Browser support
iPhone & iPad
Safari on iOS 15.4 or later, Chrome on iOS, and Firefox on iOS. No app install, no App Store review, nothing to update.
Windows
Chrome, Edge, and Firefox in their current versions. Works on Windows 10 and Windows 11. No installer, no driver, no antivirus prompt — Clipcroft is a website.
Why this works without an app, AirDrop, or a cable
Clipcroft uses WebRTC — the same direct browser-to-browser technology that powers Google Meet and most modern video calls in the browser. When both devices are on the same shared clipboard name, the browsers establish a direct peer-to-peer connection over the internet. Files travel from your iPhone to your PC without ever passing through our servers, without uploading to a cloud, and without needing both devices on the same Wi-Fi network.
What that means in practice:
- No 25 MB email attachment limit
- No 5 GB iCloud free-tier cap
- Full-resolution photos and videos preserved — messaging apps recompress, Clipcroft does not
- No USB cable, no Apple Devices app, no iTunes
- Works between an iPhone on cellular and a PC on home Wi-Fi
For added security, you can optionally set a password when you create the clipboard. The encryption key is derived locally on your iPhone, and only ciphertext leaves the device — Clipcroft never sees the password or the unencrypted files.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install an app on my iPhone?
No. Clipcroft runs entirely in Safari (or Chrome / Firefox on iOS). There is nothing to download from the App Store and no account to create.
Will photos lose quality?
No. Messaging apps and email tend to recompress photos. Clipcroft transfers the original file byte-for-byte, including 4K videos, RAW photos, and other large files.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no per-file cap. The free tier covers the first 5 MB of cumulative file transfer per session; one short ad then grants one hour of unlimited transfers. Ads can be disabled in Settings.
Do both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi network?
No. Any internet connection works on either side. Clipcroft handles network traversal automatically — your iPhone can be on cellular while your PC is on home Wi-Fi.
Can my Windows antivirus block this?
No. Clipcroft is a website — there is nothing to install on Windows, no driver, no installer, no executable.
Open Clipcroft on your iPhone and your PC, type the same short name, and start transferring.
